Mabibi is Situated on the coast between Lake Sibaya and Sodwana Bay, It forms part of the Kosi Bay coastal forest reserve. This spectacular section of coastline offers uncrowded angling and is a well known snorkeling site.
Lake Sibhayi also forms part of the Maputaland Marine Reserve. It is situated slightly north and inland from Sodwana. This is the largest fresh water lake in South Africa with a surface area of 77 square kilometers and an average depth of 13m. The lake was connected to the sea but the estuary mouth had closed.

It consists of 960 km² (96,000 ha) of hilly topography in central Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and is known for its rich wildlife and conservation efforts.
